Candidates Meeting

The candidates meeting will commence immediately upon the conclusion of the LRA Annual and Special Meeting, expected at around 7:15 p.m., concluding around 9 p.m.

The LRA is inviting the following candidates:

  • Linnea Löfström-Abary, New Democratic Party of Canada
  • Rob Oliphant, Liberal Party of Canada
  • Robert Pierce, Conservative Party of Canada
  • Sheena Sharp, Green Party of Canada

After opening statements, the candidates will respond to audience questions. Questions must be submitted in writing, either in advance or at the meeting itself (on paper cards that will be distributed; please bring your own pen or pencil). As the aim of the meeting is to hear from candidates on as wide a range of issues as possible, questions may be condensed and/or synthesized. Due to time constraints, not all questions may be posed. Oral questions from the audience are not permitted.

The LRA remains neutral in all such meetings and campaigns and does not nominate or sponsor in the name of the association any person as a candidate for election.

Info about past candidates meetings is online: https://leasideresidents.ca/events/

Please note that the LRA is a volunteer-run organization, and its ability to organize these events is contingent on member support. An annual membership costs $30. If possible, please purchase a membership in advance. Memberships will also be available for purchase at the event.
