Background Questions

1) Do you live in Ward 15?

I do not currently live in Ward 15 but I’m right next door in Ward 8. 90% of my appointments, shopping, travel etc. are all in Ward 15.

2) Have you previously run and/or been elected for municipal office (school board trustee or city councillor). Please provide details.

I ran for city council on 3 separate occasions (2013,2014,2021). Although I didn’t win I gained a lot of experience on those and the dozens of other municipal campaigns I’ve worked on.

3) Have you engaged in community and/or city building activities? Please provide examples.

I have participated and engaged in various community initiatives over the years both as a private citizen and as a member of the public service at Toronto City Council.

4) Do you have any relationships with developers or labour unions who may have potential conflicts of interest with the City?

I currently have zero relationships that would cause me to have to declare any conflicts at council.

Qualifications Questions

1) Why do you want to be the City Councillor for Don Valley West?

I want to be councillor to help and give back to the community. My goal is to combine my lived experiences as well as my work experience pertaining to the job of councillor in order to achieve results for the community as a whole.

2) What experience and accomplishments do you bring that you think will make you a good representative for Ward 15?

I was homeless from 1997-2016. I have a full adlib understanding of “the system.” Through a chance meeting on a GO Train with a current city councillor I was able to become one of his assistants from 2018-2023(with a small break in between). My job was to be his voice, eyes and ears directly with the community & 5 NIAs. All candidates have something to offer but I believe the above factors make me a great rep for Ward 15 DVW.

3) What are the key 3-5 issues you see facing Ward 15 and the City?

Transit projects, cost of living, homelessness, congestion, crime and safety. These are just some of the key issues that are affecting our city across the board. If elected I assure the constituents I will have a great staff trained in various capacities ready to go on day 1.

4) What is the first thing you will work on if elected?

On day 1, I will get the ball rolling to ensure I do what I can to help get some results on the situation with the Eglinton Crosstown project. I’m being told 1-2yrs at best. That is not good enough. It has affected multiple communities and businesses, especially in Ward15. We deserve better.
