- Welcome and call to order by Geoff Kettel at 7:15 p.m.
- Minutes of 2023 Annual Meeting, motion to approve by Paul Green and seconded by Robin Rix and approved by general consent.
- Treasurer’s Report for the 2024 year, starting balance of $43,756.10, revenue of $4,044.38, expenses of $7,226.61 and a closing balance of $40,574.87. Motion to approve by Frank Schimpl and seconded by Helen Koyama and approved by general consent.
- Nominations for the 2025 Board of Directors- the following people were nominated: Geoff Kettel, Carol Burtin Fripp, Jacinta Cooper, Paul Green, Helen Koyama, John Lea, Douglas Obright, Robin Rix, Frank Schimpl, Agnes Vermes, and Andrea Villiers.
Motion to approve by Geoff Kettel and seconded by Holly Reid and approved by general consent. - Area served – Motion to add Leaside East to the area served by the LRA; “that the area served of the Leaside Residents Association (as defined in Map A in the appendix to the Constitution) be amended to include the area from Eglinton Avenue to Vanderhoof Avenue and from Laird Drive to the west edge of the Don Valley”. The motion to approve by Geoff Kettel and seconded by Barry Schneider and approved by general consent.
- Audit: Motion to waive the requirement to have an annual audit or other financial review: “that pursuant to section 76(2)(b) of the Ontario Not For Profit Corporations Act, which permits a not-for-profit corporation other than a public benefit corporation to not appoint an auditor and to not have an audit or a review engagement in respect of the corporation’s financial year if the corporation has annual revenue in that financial year of $500,000 or less or such other prescribed amount or a review engagement in respect of its 2024 financial year”. Motion to approve by Robin Rix and seconded by Son Roberts and approved by general consent.
- Meeting closure: Geoff Kettel thanked everyone for coming and invited everyone to attend the LRA monthly meetings if they wished and to read the Leaside Life columns. Also made a reminder to renew their memberships if they haven’t already done so.
Motion to close the meeting made by Son Roberts and seconded by Linda Wright and approved by general consent at 7:30pm.
