The LRA is holding its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, May 26, at 7:30 p.m. (doors 7:15 p.m.), at the William Lea Room, Leaside Memorial Community Gardens.

Agenda

  1. Call to order
  2. Approval of the agenda
  3. Approval of the minutes (April 14, 2025)
  4. Presentation of financial statements
  5. Motion to elect the 2026 board of directors: “Resolved, that the Association elect the following individuals to its board of directors: Carol Burtin Fripp, Jacinta Cooper, Paul Green, Geoff Kettel, Helen Koyama, John Lea, Doug Obright, Robin Rix, Frank Schimpl, and Agnes Vermes.”
  6. Motion to waive the requirement to have an annual audit or other financial review: “Resolved that the Association exercise its right, pursuant to section 76(2)(b) of the Ontario Not For Profit Corporations Act, not to appoint an auditor and not to have an audit or a review engagement in respect of its 2025 financial year, as it is a not-for-profit corporation other than a public benefit corporation with annual revenue in that financial year of $500,000 or less”.

Following the AGM

We will present a discussion moderated by LRA Past President Brian Athey regarding the results and implications of the recent Leaside community survey. Presented by Glenn Asano, and featuring Councillor Rachel Chernos Lin, this Q&A session will be joined by LRA Co-Presidents Geoff Kettel and Carol Burtin Fripp on the issues facing Leaside now and in the future.

The LRA has also invited guests MP Rob Oliphant, who will be represented by his constituency assistant Patricia LeFebour, and MPP Stephanie Bowman, following her Queen’s Park assignment that evening.
